• Advanced graphic organizers such as KWL charts (what I know; what I wonder; what I learned), anticipation guides, and concept maps

• Learning by Doing 

  • Three-dimensional foldable graphic organizers used to help retell a story, describe a character, show cause and effect relationship, note a problem and solution, illustrate sequence of events, or record main ideas and details

  • Digital tools used to demonstrate new learning through multimedia projects, i.e., PowerPoint, Google Slides, Prezi, Canva, etc.  

• Read alouds that incorporate the following

  • Guided questions during reading

  • Additional subheadings

  • Chucking of text into smaller sections

  • Echo reading of specific names of people, places or concepts 

  • Additional visuals with captions that support conceptional or contextual understanding

  • Reprinted texted with wider margins for annotations 

• Writing support throughout different content areas 

  • Opportunities for freewriting

  • Illustrated Notebooks

  • Scaffolded Note Taking
